fATHER’S dAY eSSAY cONTEST
This is a great opportunity to recognize the man in your life who has always been there for you. Living Word Church is sponsoring this short-essay contest on why you appreciate your father (can be a biological father, step-father, adoptive father, foster father, uncle, teacher, or any other man who is like a father to you).
Rules, Requirements, and Rewards:
Winners will be chosen for each of the five age categories: 5-7 years of age, 8-10, 11-13, 14-18, and 18 and over.
Essay submissions must be 200 words or less. Must include name of the essay writer, writer’s age, and father’s name.
All participants will receive a coupon from the McDonald’s in Lansing for their choice of either a small vanilla ice cream cone, a frozen drink, or a cookie.
Submissions must be received no later than June 11, and can be submitted by emailing them to admin@livingword.us. Essays can also be dropped off at church (2248 186th Street, Lansing, IL 60438) or mailed, but they must be received by June 11.
Winners will be notified via email during the week of June 12-16, as well as being announced at the Sunday morning service at 10:00am at Living Word Church (2248 186th Street, Lansing, IL) on Father’s Day, June 18, 2023. The winning essays may be read in part of in whole as part of the presentation. The church is also hosting a Donuts for Dads event that day, so all are welcome to come early for donuts, which are being served from 9am to 10am.
Winners and their fathers will receive tickets to a Gary Railcats game, which will include lunch.
